Current status – Fairstead House School & Nursery is closed
Following Government advice, we have closed both the Nursery and the School to everyone except the children of key workers. While we no longer will be in the same place physically, we remain a community and are working to uphold all that is important at Fairstead House during this enforced closure.
For vulnerable children and the children of key workers, School and Nursery will be open from 7.30am to 6.00pm. The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of Covid-19 is clear. If children can safely stay at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. The Government has asked parents to keep their children at home wherever possible and schools may remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend. The fewer the children in Nursery and School, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.
Many parents deemed as ‘Key Workers’ will have partners who are able to care for their children. This must happen. Every child who can safely be cared for at home, must be. Only if your work is critical to the Covid-19 response or you are one of the critical workers and you cannot keep your child safe at home or do not have a partner who can, there will be provision for supervision in Nursery and School.
