Frequently Asked Questions about the Nursery
Are you OFSTED registered?
Do you accept childcare vouchers?
Yes. All childcare vouchers and the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare Scheme are accepted. Please contact the Bursar, Mrs Claire Freer, for further details.
Do you offer term time only places?
Yes but please note that we follow Fairstead House’s term time and these may differ from the term times of local schools. Please click here to see our term dates.
Are you open all year round?
What is included in the Nursery fees?
Do you offer any funded hours through Suffolk County Council?
Yes, Fairstead House is part of the Suffolk Early Years Funded Hours scheme and we offer 15 hours per week during Fairstead House term time to eligible children. Please note that these hours may be taken during the afternoons only – 12.30-3.30pm. We do not offer the extended 30 hours per week. Like other Independent schools, we are able and happy to run at a loss so that parents can access the 15 free hours from the term following a child’s third birthday; however and again like other Independent schools, it would be untenable to extend this to 30 free hours and maintain the quality of education on offer and the calibre and qualifications of our staff.
When will I be billed?
Nursery invoices are sent to parents at the beginning of the month for the preceding month. All invoices are sent in arrears to include any extra hours or days taken.
