Nursery Menu
Nutrition
Nutrition, and healthy (but delicious!) eating is a hugely important part of life at Fairstead House Nursery. Our menus are carefully planned and all meals are freshly prepared and cooked each day in the school kitchen. All our food is supplied locally where possible; our meat is provided by Powters of Newmarket and Spinney Abbey in Wicken. We work closely with parents to ensure that the medical, cultural and dietary needs of children are met. Breakfast is served to the children between 7.30 and 8.15am, and a light, healthy snack is provided at around 10am and 3pm. The Foals, Yearlings and Ponies 1 have lunch in their rooms, whereas Ponies 2 join with Reception and Years 1 – 2 in the Dining Hall. A high tea is served at around 4.15-4.30pm. Water is available to the children at all times.
Please find a sample lunch and tea menu below. The dessert option of a sweet ‘pudding’ is offered only to Ponies 2, as part of our commitment to encourage children to make healthy choices.
