Management
Mrs Lucie Melen
Nursery Manager
Lucie joined Fairstead House in January 2017 when the Nursery opened, initially as Deputy Manager and Foals Room Leader, before taking on the Manager role in 2018. She has a Foundation Degree in Early Years Practice, as well as a Certificate in Nursery Management, and is currently undertaking a Masters in Education Leadership and Management. She is also the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the School and Nursery.
In the very little time that she’s not working, she enjoys parkrun, baking, and has the unusual hobby of hanging upside down on an aerial hoop!
Miss Marie Alleyne
Deputy Manager & Ponies 2 Room Leader
Marie joined the Nursery in its second month, February 2017, working her way up from Practitioner to Room Leader, and now to Deputy Manager. She has over 20 years’ experience and is a Qualified Teacher, as well as being Montessori trained.
Marie loves Christmas, Harry Potter, and 90s boybands.
Mrs Chloe Franklin
Nursery Coordinator
Chloe is the longest-serving member of staff, having been at Fairstead House since before the founding of the current Nursery. She worked initially in the Nursery Class when it was within the School, and then opened the expanded Nursery as the Manager. She took a step back following the birth of her first child and now works part-time alongside Lucie in the Nursery office. She has worked with this age group since leaving school, and has a degree in Early Years.
When not at Nursery, Chloe is usually running around after her two young daughters, which keeps her fit for playing netball for Burwell.

Amelia Stokes
Early Years Practitioner
Amelia first joined the Nursery in 2021 on a student placement whilst studying for her Level 3 at college, but was no stranger to Fairstead, having been at the school as a child! She is now a qualified Level 3 Practitioner, and works in the Nursery around studying for further Early Years qualifications at university.
When not at Nursery or studying, Amelia will usually be found riding her horse, particularly competing in showjumping competitions.
Chloe Campbell
Early Years Practitioner
Chloe joined us straight from school in summer 2021 as an apprentice studying for her Level 2 in Early Years. She has now completed this qualification and is looking forward to moving straight on to her Level 3.
As well as being a talented artist and dancer, Chloe was a silver medallist in the National Karate Championships this year!
